I guess I&#039;m just lazy and haven&#039;t made the switch since I actually don&#039;t have a reason for running the ebuild instead. It is a good way of using the latest stuff though.

Good work keeping it alive! Perhaps I&#039;ll follow the advice and &quot;emerge -C&quot; it later this afternoon and use the kernel one instead ;)</description>

- If you resume with monolithic kernel it loads all its contents before resume includinding driver initalization
- If you resume with modular kernel it loads all compiled-in parts before loading after only blacklisted modules

As far as I remember making modular kernel saved around 50%-75% of resume time.</description>
