fringe programs
I compulsively feel the need to explain what I mean by “fringe programs” in my last post, since I don’t want to be misunderstood.
By fringe, I mean small programs that don’t get much exposure, target a small audience, probably aren’t very popular, but they work well, are supported upstream, and have a release cycle.
There. I just had to clarify that, especially since I’m a treecleaner. Plus, I have absoutely no problems about removing ebuilds from the tree because the programs are unsuported, buggy, dead upstream, butt-ugly, full of security holes, deprecated, duplicated, annoying, nasty, worthless or won’t build.
So there you go. I’m not a free-for-all-commit-love-fest-fan-boy. Let the record stand straight. ![]()
