Star Wars Rebels on Blu-ray

SPOILER ALERT! THERE ARE SPOILERS BELOW DUE TO SPECIAL FEATURES TITLES AND ARTWORK.

It’s time for another image attack, this time Rebels. This is one of my favorite shows ever. I kind of got into it on a whim. I was at a media store one time that sells used media and books. and I saw season 4 of Rebels on Blu-ray. I’d never even heard of the series before, but it looked somewhat interesting. The cover was all banged up and had sticky glue on it from when someone else had a price tag on it. Still, it was under $20 and it was Star Wars, so why not? So that’s what I’m covering today. It’s ended up being one of my favorite TV shows ever, and it was definitely worth the price.

One of the reasons aside from the art that I like to do these blog posts is to point out that physical media is still relevant these days, and comes with a lot of content you won’t find on a streaming device. Plus you get the highest possible quality, and aren’t restricted to whatever quality comes with streaming. I totally understand that ripping your content and setting it up to watch in a local environment can be a pain, but Blu-ray players these days are not too expensive (looks like they are averaging between $75 and $80 on Amazon, here’s a Sony), and you can probably afford to have a hardware player in your home and have an open HDMI slot.

The TVDB page for Rebels has some really great art on there as well. I’ve got two of them that I use for my computer’s wallpaper. I think they look pretty cool.

The Rebels releases all come with special features on each of the discs, while looking at it streaming on Disney+, there aren’t any extras at all (to be fair, they do stream in a far bigger number of languages). So if you find a show that you are really into, there may be more content out there that you can watch. That’s definitely the case here. All the extras and audio commentaries make it worth a lot for a real Star Wars fan.

Now, let’s look at the discs themselves, what kind of content they have on there:

This screenshot above looks grainy on purpose, as in, that’s the source material. It’s supposed to look like a little console where you’re watching video playback. Be assured that the Blu-ray content itself is gorgeous.
